Sari shopping
We met Lindsey and Autumn at a coffee shop in town. Dean and Eric went to the internet café and the three ladies went into the market. This was a different market- it was very narrow. A little ways down, there was like a cul-de-sac of bamboo stalls. These all had saris and complete out fits draping the walls. Each vendor tried to entice her to her particular stall. We looked at several. I wanted to have some to use for drapes for photography. Joy Anna also wanted some to use in her massage area. It helped to buy more than one at a stand because they would discount the price. We did well and bought several for less than 4.00 each. Each one is 6 meters of fabric. We did a little more shopping in the markets before heading to KFC again. Not too long after lunch, Prem picked us up for chi with his family. It was so much fun. We really feel like we are part of the family. We had chi, the kids danced, we talked (as best we could) we laughed, took lots of photos and laughed some more. It was so nice. When we started to leave, they gave me a beautiful scarf and Dean a really nice shirt. (I am playing catch-up on the journal while in London and I wore the scarf today!)
Santoshi attempted to teach me to make chi. So, on the way back to Eric’s to get our things, we stopped at a store so I could get the right kind of tea. We stopped at KFC again, too. Prem ate dinner with us. Eric gave him his Christmas gift. He is bad about hanging on to gifts for a long time. Anyway, Prem got a really large chi cup that says big boss. It fits.
The train ride was not nearly as intimidating going back. There were not nearly as many as people. We were in a much nicer train. Prem came in and visited until it was time for the train to pull out. We even made it to Delhi on time.
Delhi was so quiet! We saw the presidential motorcade – we think. When we got to the airport I almost messed up and almost didn’t get to say goodbye to Eric. I thought he had said to go on, but he said hang on. I was holding his backpack and it had his passport in it. He sweet talked a guy with a big gun and finally got to come inside for just a minute. It was hard to say goodbye, but next time we see him will not be too far away.
