Praying for a tiger

I posted a couple of days ago about the hopes of seeing a tiger on our safari. It reminded me a story from Alaska. For all the months we had been planning our trip, we had hoped to see a whale. Eric had just finished kindergarten and had an obsession with whales- especially Orca. We were on our boat tour of Prince William Sound. Our captain had us go up on deck as he had spied humpbacks in the distance. I am not sure if we were the first ones on deck, but we were the last ones to leave. After the pair of whales had put on a wonderful show, everyone else had ventured back below. Dean, Eric, Joy Anna and I were still there. Maybe hoping we would see some more. Eric looked up at me and said, "Mom, isn't God good?" I agreed, of course. Then he said, "I only prayed for one whale, and he gave me two." A little later we saw three more. This time they were Orcas. Yep, God really was good then and He is now, too. I don't think it is silly at all to ask Him to allow us to see one of His creations.
