City Palace Jaipur

The City Palace in Jaipur was a very interesting collection of art and history of the rulers in that area. Many of the things we were not allowed to photograph. The photo below is of one of the walls inside.
again, filigree work to allow the ladies to watch what is going on without being seen.

One of the rulers was going to England, He could only drink water from the Ganges River because of his religious beliefs. He had two of these made from 14000 silver coins. They weigh 750 pounds each.

One of the inner courtyards has four gates- one to represent each season. The most intricate was the peacock gate that represents autumn.

The photo below was taken from the car, but I liked the words in Hindi and the old look to the scene. The city palace and the location of this photo are both within the Pink City - things within still must be painted pink.

  1. Nice, Pam, thank you. I love seeing pictures of things I probably will never see 'in person'.
